Academic entry scholarships

Value

Entry scholarships may be available for students based on academic and English performance. Availability of scholarships will be determined after receiving the student’s application and in issuance of letter of offer.

GSSP partner institutions

These scholarships are specific to UNH GSSP.

Application instructions

Students must request a particular scholarship as part of their application process.

Family bursaries

Value

The bursary is equivalent to 10% of the tuition fee for up to 8 units of study within one program only with a Navitas member institution. The bursary does not apply to additional units or repeat units that may also be undertaken and excludes mixed English options.

Eligibility

  • Family Bursary applies where two or more students from the same family study at a GSSP partner institution.
  • The first family member can be studying at a GSSP partner institution at the same time as the other family members or may have studied at any GSSP partner institution previously.
  • The family bursary is granted to the second and subsequent family members who study at a GSSP partner institution.
  • Not have previously received a Navitas scholarship or bursary, or had a scholarship or bursary from a GSSP partner institution withdrawn.

Definitions

For the purpose of this bursary, a family member is defined as a husband, wife, brother, sister, mother, father, son, daughter or stepchild.

Conditions

  • Successful recipients will not receive any money from the GSSP partner institution. The value of the bursary will be recorded on the student's account each semester of study.
  • The bursary does not apply to additional units or repeat units that may also be undertaken.
  • The bursary is not applicable to English language program or any component of any English language program offered by GSSP partner institutions.

Navitas member institutions

The Navitas bursary applies to students studying at BCUIC, Curtin College, Curtin Singapore, CRIC, Deakin College, EIBT, EIC, Eynesbury, FIC, Griffith College, HIC, ICM, ICP, ICRGU, ICWS, La Trobe Melbourne, La Trobe University Sydney Campus, LBIC, NIC, PUIC, PIBT, SAIBT, SIBT, FAU GSSP, UMass Boston ISSP, UMass Dartmouth GSP, UMass Lowell GSSP, UNH GSSP, UC College, UCIC, UNIC, Western Sydney University International College, and Western Sydney University – Sydney City Campus.

Application instructions

A completed application must be submitted to the GSSP partner institution together with supporting documents, such as birth certificate, or family card. Application form can be obtained from the GSSP partner institution where the student has enrolled.

Academic Merit and Engagement Scholarship

UNH GSSP is committed to helping you achieve your career goals by offering scholarships to outstanding students. The Academic Merit and Engagement Scholarship is awarded to a select number of outstanding undergraduate students in both the English and academic stage.

Value

Scholarships will be credited to your GSSP account and will be applied towards tuition fees only. The number and value of scholarships awarded each year will vary based on the number of quality applicants received and the funds available.

Eligibility

GSSP English (ESL) Stage Applicants MUST:

  • Be currently studying full-time in the GSSP;
  • Have passed all courses from the previous semester;
  • Demonstrate student leadership, involvement and commitment to the UNH community;

GSSP Academic Stage Applicants MUST:

  • Be currently studying full-time in the GSSP;
  • Have passed all courses from the previous semester;
  • Have at least a 3.50 cumulative or semester GPA;
  • Demonstrate student leadership, involvement and commitment to the UNH community;

Conditions

  • Students must be in good academic standing and free of any probationary status (Academic, ESL repeat or Attendance).
  • Students cannot have any outstanding fees on their student account.
  • Students cannot have previously received a GSSP scholarship or bursary, or had a scholarship or bursary from the GSSP withdrawn.
  • Scholarships are not transferable to other students or GSSP partner institutions in any circumstances.
  • The UNH GSSP reserves the right not to award all or some of the scholarships in a given semester.
  • Scholarships cannot be backdated.

Selection Criteria

Selection will be based on:

  • Academic results (GPA/pass rate) from their previous semester of study.
  • Leadership involvement and proven commitment to the UNH community.
  • Additional factors such as educational disadvantage, member of specific equity group and/or significantly adverse personal circumstances may be taken into account where the scholarship panel must differentiate between equally qualified applicants.
  • Outcome of scheduled interview with the GSSP scholarship panel.

Notification of results

The scholarship panel will then review applications and invite candidates in for a brief interview. Once a decision has been made, UNH GSSP will announce the recipients of the scholarship. The recipients will be notified by email and a formal announcement will be posted on the GSSP website and/or social media platforms.
